Hi! I’m Chris Sitzmann.  I’m excited to continue my career as a Catholic educator at St. John Vianney. I’ve been teaching at Gehlen in Le Mars, Iowa.  I’m also a Gehlen graduate.  For the past several years, I’ve taught 5th and 6th grade students.

I became a teacher because I enjoy seeing people expand their world and their possibilities through education.  I love the uniqueness of each studen, and I’m blessed to grow with each of them. 

I have a degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Dakota.  My beautiful and talented daughter, Hannah, lives in Kansas City with my granddog, Rocky.  

In my spare time, you might find me walking or biking, often with friends.  One of my family’s favorite quotes is “The joy is in the journey”.  I enjoy finding the joy and humor in every day life.
